The performance is dedicated to the two great Scandinavian dramatists – Henrik Ibsen and August Strindberg. These outstanding, unordinary personalities, of complex characters and intricate mutual relations, secret passions, close to an “underground” consciousness – might well become heroes of Dostoevsky’s novels.
In a modern interpretation the performance features the eternal questions of human loneliness, of assertion of human dignity, of attitude towards the “woman question” - which were raised in the creative work of the two Scandinavian writers. The story of the inner relation-antagonism between Strindberg and Ibsen, recounted in a vivid theatre language, opens the drama of the two creators of genius, who – in different ways – attempted to find sense in life, to express themselves in art.
